County Business Patterns or C 3.204/3-20:year - This annual publication features information about subnational economic data. Much of this data is available via Explore Census Data as well. Note that this data is organized by industry. This source can yield information at the state and parish level for most industries.

Economic Census - This measure of American business and the economy is taken every 5 years. Much of this data is available via Explore Census Data as well. Note that this data is organized by industry. This source can yield information at the state and parish level for most industries.

OnTheMap - This online mapping application provides visualizations of employee data, as well as statistics on employee characteristics including age, earnings, and industry groups. It can be used to find information at the state, parish, and local level.

Southwest Information Office (Louisiana) - This webpage from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics contains statistics regarding the economy and employment. Most information is available at the state level, though some is available for select cities.

State Profiles - These profiles from the Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy provide information such as the number of small businesses, number of establishments opening/closing, and more. This source can yield information at the state, parish, and congressional district, depending on which profile is used.
