FAQs & Public Service Tips: Log-in Problems

Info and tips for helping Sims Library users.

Problems logging in to Library Online

When logging in to Sims Library's online resources from off campus, sometimes users will get a pop up message stating that login failed. Here's a short explanation of each user message:

BARRED -- This means the user's ID is not active. Please send them to Checkout Desk (Circulation).
BLOCKED -- This means the user's ID is expired; thresholds may be reached.
DELINQUENT -- The user has overdue items and must return immediately to avoid loss of privileges.

**Undergraduate are blocked if charges exceed $50 or more or have 25 overdue items.
**Graduate students are blocked if charges exceed $50 or 50 overdue items.
**Employees are blocked if charges exceed $50 or more or has 100 overdue items.

Dual Enrollment
High School students and facilitators in this program are eligible to use the library's electronic resources from off campus. Please contact Angela D. or Angie E., if they are unable to connect. They can check to see if this patron group is populating with active IDs in our library system.

Groups with remote access rights
  • Southeastern students
  • Southeastern faculty/staff
  • Visiting faculty/scholars
  • Dual Enrollment instructors/students

Please note that many students with W numbers are not eligible to use databases licensed by Southeastern. Examples include students enrolled in the ICMSN or EdD programs who originate from McNeese or ULL or NTC students who are taking Southeastern classes.
