FAQs & Public Service Tips: Northshore Technical Comm College

Info and tips for helping Sims Library users.

Northshore Technical Community College Students (CTS)

Southeastern Louisiana University and Northshore Technical Community College partner on the Connect to Success (CTS) and Reconnect to Success programs. (These students may be on a path to come to SLU in the future, but they are not current students). These NTCC students have limited library privileges at Sims.

Here's what you must know about NTCC students:

  • CTS and RCS can login to LeoNet with their Southeastern W number and university password.
  • NTCC students should have access to the VMs in the Library, logging in with their W number and password. For help with first time logins click HERE.
  • in order to print, they must purchase prints using this LeoNet link:  http://www.selu.edu/admin/sps/printing/extra_prints/index.htm
  • They do not have checkout privileges, reserve privileges or equipment checkout privileges at Sims Library. NTCC Students may request a LOUIS Reciprocal Borrowers Card from Gator Library (at NTCC), so they can borrow from Sims Library. NTCC students with a LOUIS Reciprocal Borrowing Card may checkout items for four weeks, limit 10 items, including Media, Bestsellers and Scores. They can also check out Reserves, limit 4 items.
  • NTCC students can access Sims Library catalog while in our Library.  They should have remote access to their home library, Gator Library. They do not have remote access to Southeastern Louisiana University databases
  • They will not be able to use e-reserves for their Southeastern classes.
  • They do not have Interlibrary Loan service privileges.
  • NTCC pathways students may request the password to SLU-Guest wifi.

These students must use their HOME library (Gator at NTCC) for circulation, reserves and ILL services.
