Introduction to The Research Process
Research is a complex, messy process. You explore something new when researching, so you encounter different types of sources, information, and producers. Your ideas and strategies evolve based on what you learn, making flexibility, creativity, and perseverance vital.
Because of the above, research can be challenging. Thinking about research in stages and working through them can help provide some structure.
We’re going to look at some common, effective stages to research – but remember that because research is a process no two experiences will be identical. How long you spend in any stage or how often you cycle through different stages may differ between projects.
