Information floods our lives, which makes finding anything specific difficult. Search engines are easy to use, but return too many results to review quickly. Even then, not all the results found are ones we can read. The sources may be behind a paywall or aren’t available online.

Libraries gather many useful sources, but require some introduction to its organization and tools. The stacks may seem huge, but understanding call numbers allows you to locate any item on the shelves. Library databases work differently than search engines but offer many types of searching to best locate what you need. Libraries also provide access to information, both in print and online, that cannot be found in a general web search.

If you are having trouble finding information, ask the librarians for help! That’s why we’re here.
