State Government

It includes information on road closures and press releases. Be sure to check the Twitter and Facebook feeds on the left, as they often contain important information.

Recovery (GOHSEP) : This is the Recovery webpage on GOHSEP's main website. It has some further information describing the recovery process after disasters, which may help complement the federal resources.

Office of the Governor : This is the Office of the Governor's official website. While it may not contain the most up-to-date information, the 'News Room' section currently has pertinent information related to the flooding of the state.

Emergency Assistance Links : The State Library of Louisiana compiled this LibGuide, which contains links for several different resources depending on need. Many of these are government related, but others are for supporting organizations. Some useful information include the links to the emergency offices in various parishes, emergency information, and links to recovery groups.

Disaster Information : The Louisiana State University AgCenter has several publications related to the topic of disasters. Especially pertinent ones include how to treat for mold and a storm recovery guide.

Tips for Flood Recovery : Dr. Ed Benoit III, an archivist at Louisiana State University, provides recommendations for recovering personal belongings such as books, photographs, and important documents. There are also links to video tutorials.

Flood Recovery (Louisiana Department of Insurance) : This webpage from the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) features an overview of information that may be helpful to those filing claims. It includes topics such as vehicle coverage and links to several federal government websites.

Flood Reentry Fact List (Department of Environmental Quality) : This fact list from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) provides several safety recommendations for those recovering flooded property.
