Teaching to Transgress by bell hooks
This book changed my life. hooks spoke to my soul and solidified teaching practices that I had been doing for years. She validated that it was okay to love your students and not treat them as if they are intellectually inferior, but rather your equals in discourse and knowledge exchange.
