International Baccalaureate Students

Information for IB Students

International Baccaulaurete students are invited to use Southeastern Louisiana University library resources, but need to know this important information.

[Note: if you are also enrolled in a Southeastern class (aka "dual enrollment student"), see the next tab.]

IB students must sign up for guest accounts in order to use the PCs in the library. During regular office hours, IB students can go to the second floor Library Administration Office to apply for a Guest Account. After 5:30 pm and on Sundays, IB students can get a short-term Guest Account at the first floor reference desk.

IB students must pay for printing from the library computers. They can purchase a print card at the Circulation Desk on the first floor in increments of $1 or $5. Each print is $.10. Staff in the first floor reference area can assist IB students with their guest printing.

Photocopiers do not take cash or coins. To use the photocopy machines, students should purchase a Lions Langniappe card from the vending machine in the Library lobby for $1, and add money to the card to make photocopies.

Another good choice when using library resources is to bring a flash drive, save your research to the flash drive and print at home.

IB students:

  • do not have remote access to Southeastern databases.
  • do not have Interlibrary Loan service privileges.

IB students can obtain a parish library card, and use the State Library to access many  of the same databases:

Hammond High School IB students can get a borrowing card to check out print books, using the form signed by the parent/guardian.
