Louisiana Disaster Declaration Timeline

Beginning August 11, 2016, heavy rains led to major flooding throughout Southeastern Louisiana. Numerous parishes and communities were, and are, still afffected as a result.

On August 14, 2016, President Barack Obama issued a Major Disaster Declaration for Louisiana in response to these events. A press release with further information can be found at the following link: [Click Here]

In the initial declaration, only four parishes were listed as affected. However, as events continued, more parishes were added. On August 16, 2016, a total of twelve parishes were listed as affected.
