ScanPro 3000 Microfilm ScannerBoth the current subscriptions to newspapers and the microfilm (archival) copies of newspapers are located in the 2nd floor Serials Department. A patron will need to know the "Film Number" in order to find the correct reel of microfilm.
Our microfilm scanner, located against the western wall of the Serials Department, is a state of the art ScanPro 3000. After loading the film, you advance and position your images completely online. It allows you to scan whole pages, portions of pages, edit individual photos on a page prior to scanning; set the scanning borders around your desired article, and much more. You can also download your images in any number of formats.
We have current print subscriptions to several local newspapers, including the New Orleans Time Picayune, The Baton Rouge Advocate and the Hammond Daily Star.

Microfilm reader/printer/scanners are located on the 2nd floor in the Serials Room. Patrons should bring a flash drive to save scanned images. They may also want to purchase a print card if they are a guest user.
