Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs

Formatting

The Southeastern Graduate Council issues Thesis and Dissertation Standards for students who will be writing a thesis or dissertation. The academic departments select which style manual is used, and the School of Nursing uses APA (American Psychological Association) style.

Each Project committee reviews the content of the writing and the style of citations.

The Thesis and Dissertation Standards and information on the steps to submitting approved materials can be found following this path:

Southeastern homepage >> Academic Programs >> Graduate Programs >> Handbook and Publications

Timeline for Theses and Dissertations can be found following this path:

Southeastern homepage >> Academic Programs >> Graduate Programs >> Calendar and Deadlines

Note about printing: Although margins may be correctly selected in Microsoft Word (1.5 inch left margin, 1 inch right and bottom margins, 2 or 1 inch top margins), each printer will place the text in a slightly different location on the sheet of paper. Candidates should check the margins on the finished product before submitting for format review, as the actual margins are measured during format review.

Bound DNP Projects/Theses

Candidates for DNP degrees pay for the cost of having his/her project bound. Thesis binding fees must be paid to the Controller's Office prior to submission of the dissertation.

DNP projects and theses are also uploaded to ProQuest Dissertations and Theses database.
